About me

About me

I’m Peter Mercer and I am a

graduate of the London School of Soft Tissue Therapy (LSSM), with a BTEC Level 5 Diploma, working from my clinic in Walderslade, Kent.

I know how difficult it can be to be in constant pain or to be carrying an injury.

Sports and remedial massage is not just for athletes, it is for everyone, which is why I promote myself as Soft Tissue Therapist.  Soft Tissue Therapy is the person-centred approach to the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain and minor injuries. In my clinic I use a variety of techniques to manipulate the soft tissues provide rehabilitation advice and exercises to aid recovery and reduce the risk of reoccurrence. I treat a wide range of clients; some from sporting backgrounds and others who have aches and pains from everyday life such as slouching at a desk causing neck, back and shoulder pain. As my clinic is in Walderslade it is easily accessible from the surrounding areas including Chatham, Rochester, Strood, Gillingham, Rainham, Hempstead, Aylesford and Maidstone.

I have always been a recreational runner and regular gym user and I wanted to further my knowledge of the human body to be able to offer sport and remedial massage.  The training I have received means that I understand the anatomy and physiology of the human body so that I can offer clinical assessment and targeted treatments to relieve pain and improve function of the musculoskeletal system.

Each treatment is tailored to your needs, if needed I will advise on stretching and strengthening exercises for you to do at home to help aid your recovery.

I am a member of the Institute of Soft Tissue Therapists (ISRM), formally the Institute of Sport & Remedial Massage and I am fully insured. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
