An Introduction From Me

Hey Everyone.

Just a note from me to introduce my new newsletter. I’ll be preparing a short newsletter every couple of months which will (hopefully) have some interesting information about what is happening in my clinic.

I want to use these newsletters as a way of letting my customers know what I have been up to in my clinic, how I have been helping people to feel and move better and what I have been learning to help you all feel good. Occasionally i’ll also be sending out some self-help stretching and strengthening information so you can help yourselves at home, in-between visits to me.

I’ll also try use this newsletter as a way of letting you all get to know me a bit better, what I have been unto at home, my holidays etc. The plan is to keep it very light hearted and easy reading!

I hope you all enjoy the content, please feel free to give me any feedback you have or any ideas you would like to read about in future issues.

Happy Reading!

Clinic News

April was the UK Marathon Month!

Over the last few weeks I have seen a number of clients who are training hard for the the popular UK marathons. In April we have Brighton, Manchester and London which are all extremely popular. Training for a marathon, or any endurance event, is really hard work. Anyone training for one will obviously already know this, but there is literally blood, sweat and tears invested in getting all the training runs in before the big day.

Along with the training runs there is also the need to focus on strength training, stretching, nutrition and rest. With busy lives it can often be difficult to fit it all in and it can feel overwhelming as race day gets nearer.

Many of the clients I have seen needed some LTC to help them to recover after their long training runs or to help treat niggles in their ankles, knees, hips and lower backs!. I have also been able to offer some advice on exercises to help prevent any niggles becoming injuries and to provide some reassurance that the muscles are in good condition for race day.

The runners I have seen have really benefitted from talking to me about their training and any issues that have had with their muscles. I have provided them with Sports Massage treatments to help ease their DOMS, help their recovery and keep their bodies moving well.

It was great to also see many of these runners after their marathon, to hear their stories and to help with their recovery. As a recreational runner myself it has been a pleasure to treat these endurance runners, to hear their training stories and their reasons for running. I have been tempted (only tempted) to sign up for another marathon myself!

Running a marathon is hard work!

Other News

Some of you may know that I was working part time in a clinic in Maidstone. I have taken the decision not to continue with my work at the clinic as I feel like it was limiting the time I had to focus on my home business and clients. From mid April I will again be offering more appointment from my home clinic, enabling me to offer appointment again on a Wednesday morning and a Friday afternoon., which is good news.

On Saturday the 13th May I will be offering post event Sports Massage treatments at Bewl Water, Kent, which is a race organised by Hermes Running. I really enjoy doing these events as it’s great to treat runners straight after they have finished their run. I love hearing their stories and hear and helping them to feel better.

Who wouldn’t want a massage after running a half, full or ultra marathon!
